The case also extends the devices’ battery life up to 18 hours for Internet use on LTE networks and up to 20 hours for video playback, according to Apple’s online store. “With the Smart Battery Case on, the intelligent battery status is displayed on the iPhone Lock screen and in Notification Center, so you know exactly how much charge you have left,” the tech giant explained.
The case spells good news for users desperate to extend their battery life but unwilling to purchase Apple’s large-screen iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6s Plus, which offer up to 24 hours of 3G talk time.
Without the Smart Battery case, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s offer up to 14 hours of talk time on 3G networks, up to 10 hours of Internet use on 3G and LTE, and up to 11 hours of Internet use on Wi‑Fi. HD video playback is up to 11 hours.
The case is priced at $99 and is available in Charcoal Gray and White.
