MacRumors reports that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has started the pre-order process for the new Apple TV. Last week at the WSDJ conference, CEO Tim Cook announced that the new set-top box would be available for sale this week. The new variant is priced at $149 for the 32GB version, while the 64GB one is retailing for $199. In the case customers pre-order the product now, the device will be shipped to them later next week, while customers who selected one-day delivery will be receiving it on October 30.In case users want to buy added accessories with the Apple TV 4, they can buy extra Siri Remotes for $79 each, while the remote’s loop strap, similar to that of the Nintendo Wii, will be available for a $12.99 extra charge. The new Apple TV is a significant upgrade from the previous generation with new features.
The set-top box includes a full blown new version of tvOS, while the internal hardware has also been increased significantly. This includes an A8 chip, 2GB of RAM, 1080p video capabilities. Moreover, the iPhone maker has also given developers the freedom to integrate their apps with the universal search provided in the operating software.
