A new Sherlock Holmes game is headed to PC and consoles, the eighth from Bigben Interactive and Frogwares, marking the first time the world’s most famous detective will appear on the latest generation of gaming hardware. But it’s going to be a few more months before fans get their hands on Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter, considering it won’t be available until 2016.
On Tuesday, publisher Bigben Interactive and developer Frogwares confirmed plans to release the eighth game in the Sherlock Holmes series that began back in 2002. Details are surprisingly scarce, considering we’re only six(ish) months away from the project launch window for Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter. But the two companies did publish three new screenshots alongside a handful of bullet points, to build some excitement for the news.
According to a press release, Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter will see the detective in unfamiliar territory, after Holmes’ “ruthless logic is overwhelmed by family stories, irresistible emotions and an occult revenge.” The two companies also say fans can expect “state-of-the-art graphics” and “a unique blend of game mechanics” in the latest Sherlock Holmes game for PC and consoles.
There’s currently no trailer for Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter, or gameplay footage of any kind. Those interested in an early look at the project are encouraged to check out all of the screenshots in the Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter image gallery at the top of this post.
Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter is being developed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game is scheduled to debut sometime next spring.
